Review for Greece test
We reviewed the huge powerpoint for our unit on Ancient Greece. Only about half of the class was paying attention, but i think reviewing helped me even though we already took notes on the powerpoint. This review helped me remember just how much this unit covers and reminded me what subjects are going to be on the test tomorrow. After class, i made a great quizlet to help me study tonight.
Here is the quizlet: (it isn't finished yet)

gods or Gods?
The beginning portion of class today was on taking notes about Greek Mythology. Mr. Schick doesn't go too far into depth about this topic because he cares more for the real live people and their events rather than the fake stories. I see why he would think that, i mean he is a History teacher. Anyways, of course i don't believe any of the stories in Greek Mythology, but i just think they are so interesting. This topic just sparks up my imagination! I like thinking that there was almost a god for everything who was so unique in every way possible.
We also got into a huge class discussion about this but then people became so annoying and started asking ridiculous, off topic questions and statements that only steered the discussion farrrrr away from where Mr. Schick intended it to go. Basically class felt like my religion class. It was so annoying because they all knew that Mr. Schick could not answer all of these, literal out of this world, questions. Like for example, someone would ask questions on what happens when we die. UGH no one can answer these questions. It was like the class was talking in circles... Anyways, another topic was on why one religion shouldn't be viewed more important than another because once again WE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING. So, we should all just believe in what we believe in and have faith in it because we can't prove one way of creation more true than the other. We just have to believe.

Greek Culture group assignment cont.
I worked on my portion of our group essay today:'
Many of the greatest ancient civilizations settled by a river or a body of water. For example, there was Egypt on the Nile, India on the Indus, and China on the Huang He
River. When a group of people are deciding where to settle, they must take into account how the geography will affect how they will obtain their food, water, and resources to build shelter. Geography in Ancient Greece impacted the Greek’s culture and lifestyle in several ways. Although, the terrain in Greece was not so favorable, this brilliant civilization learned to thrive by creating new ways to live everyday life in Greece.

Class Ancient Greece Book
We have a new group project. My group and i got all of our topic sentences done, and figured out how we want to layout our essay. This was difficult because we found that our topics were all related with their details, so we had to find a way to make these paragraphs relate to each other, but not repeat each other. I think we are off to a good start, but if we are going to finish this, we need to work super hard next class.
