Notes from class:
Why is each point on Earth unique?
-place: unique location of a feature
-regions: areas of unique characteristics
-Spatial Association: how they are related to each other on
the planet
Each place on Earth is in some respects unique and in other
ways similar to other places. The interplay between the uniqueness of each
place and the similarities among places lies at the heart of geographic
questioning about why things are found where they are. Two basic concepts help
geographers to explain why every point on Earth is in some ways unique – place and
region. The difference between the two concepts is partly a matter of scale: a
place is a point, whereas a region is an area.
Also, in class today Mr. Schick checked our mind maps that
we did in class yesterday and he handed out our tests. He does this bell thing
with tests in his class. So, if you get an A then you get one ding on the bell
and if you get a 100% or above, you get two dings on the bell. I got a 98% on
the test so I got one ding on the bell!!
